Climbing in the Lake District As a sport, rock climbing emerged out of a simple desire to go up.   To climb a natural line of weakness, to attain the top, not via the path but by the myriad cracks and ledges that abound on our British crags.

Rock Climbing with Fells & Forest is divided into three main areas:-

Classic Lakeland Rock Tours

This is a four-day course (Monday - Thursday) exploring some of the legendary routes that have shaped British rock climbing.   Based in the South Lakes, we visit a number of different crags, tailoring grade, route and weather with your aspiration.   Previous rock climbing experience is useful, but not essential.

The instructor / client ratio is 1:2 The cost, for one or two people, is £330.

Join one of our existing courses or we can arrange your own, for you and your friends (minimum of two).

Private Guiding

Explore the crags and routes of your choice at a time that suits you.

The instructor / client ratio is 1:2. The cost, for one or two people, is £150 / day.

Coaching

Improve your climbing with dedicated, personal instruction improving your weak areas and building up your natural skills.   These days tend to be very helpful for people preparing for their SPA assessment, or for climbers looking to improve their grade.

The instructor / client ratio is normally 1:1, although some of our customers like to split the cost with a friend and work 1:2. The cost, for one or two people, is £150 / day.
